Patricia Lewsley opens new Afterschools Building
4 Jan, 2010
Windsor Women’s Centre held a grand opening of their new Afterschools building. The day was full of celebration and success.
The children from the crèche and the staff started the proceedings by singing Christmas songs. Certificates where then presented to some of the students who had successfully completed courses.
On Broadway the young people from the Talent Tribe performed a poignant and hard hitting interpretation of living within a POSTCODE LOTTERY AREA; this was then followed by Jodi Peten entertaining all the guests with renditions of Christmas carols on the flute.
Patricia Lewsley the Children’s Commissioner attended and did the honour of officially opening the Afterschools building. Shirley Simpson – Childcare Co-ordinator for Windsor Women’s Centre said “Having this building means that for the first time the children will have dedicated space to call their own. They will be able to have a sense of belonging, display the outcomes of all the valuable pieces of work they are involved in and be able to personalise the building. We are very grateful to Patricia for taking the time out to officially open the buildingNews archives
