In 2009 the Windsor Women's Centre made the decision to committment to the environment. Concerned about the current risks climate change and fears about pollution, our staff drafted a set of policies that every worker, visiter and user of the centre could easily adhere.

In March 2010, those policies officially came into effect, we provided recycling bins in each area of the centre to minimalise waste, reduced our paper usage and informed staff, users and students, we carefully monitored our use of energy and are currently seeking to improve our current systems by switching over to green engery suppliers, we make use of natural resources, encourage biodiversity and we've also done our best to inform all member of the centre about envrionmental concerns.

As a result, Ground Work in Wales informed us today that we would be receiving a Green Dragon for all our efforts! The Green Dragon is a stepped Standard recognising effective environmental management. The Standard offers an environmental management system relevant to the specific needs of companies and organisations and rewards actions taken to achieve environmental improvements.
