About our Commitment to the Environment
The Windsor Women’s Centre believes it has an obligation to comply with all relevant legislation and minimise its impact on the environment. We are committed to being part of a cleaner energy future, and to assist in the provision of a more sustainable way of life.
In order to do this, we have implemented an environmental management system which focuses on:
- Minimising waste through recycling our paper, plastics & cans
- Reducing our waste generation through effective dissemination of information to staff, students and users of the Centre
- Monitoring our use of energy and seeking constant improvements through education and awareness.
- Encouraging environmental awareness in our target groups of women and children in the community.
- Exploring issues of biodiversity through the use of community allotment in the area with the help of our target groups.
- Switching over to Green Energy Supplier for electricity
- Maximising efficient use of natural resources
- Preventing pollution
Regular checks and reviews are carried out to ensure the environmental management system remains effective.
We aim to continuously improve our environmental performance through the support and involvement of all employees and any other interested parties.
