Chairpersons Report 2008
This has been a very busy year for the Centre and I am very proud of the role that the staff have played in securing resources for their community.Across the departments serious efforts have been put in to raising the necessary funds to sustain and develop the work of the Centre and after four years of planning and putting together development plans for the furtherance of the work of the Education and Training Department. We continue to work with the Execution Trust and have just completed the new after schools unit and training unit in Broadway.
This year staff worked really hard to bring the Talent Tribe Organisation to the Village area and loads of children had the opportunity to gain a range of skills in a host of media training positions over 90 children took part in this over two days.
Also this year and indeed the coming year will show our undertakings to address the environmental issues through an accredited route provided by the voluntary organisation Business in the Community. This award enables us to investigate our current practices in waste management. Indeed we are the first community organisation in
So the forecast for the forthcoming year is a busy one indeed with many challenges for the staff and Management but I am confident that our joint efforts will result in increased benefits for women and children in this community.
Throughout this report you will read the different achievements of all departments and the work that they complete for the benefit of Women & children, so a big thanks to the staff whose commitment has been shown time and time again.
And finally I would like to thank all the members of the Management Committee for their efforts and for giving their time so generously and to all the staff at the Centre, all of you are what makes this a special place in the heart of the community.
