Education and Training Report 2007

Within our education and training team we share a vision where all women are given the opportunity to return to learning in an environment that is fully supportive and conductive to learning: We feel that this is reflected not only in the variety and quality of courses on offer but is also reflected in the levels of support, and accessibility of staff to students.

Whilst we measure the success of our project in numbers we also measure our success by the quality of the experience for the individual.  Every year demand from the community ensures we exceed our target numbers of 130 women per year.  This year we have topped the 160 mark with women studying for Diploma in Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Nutrition and Hot Stones.  G.C.S.E Maths, Counselling, IT, First Aid, Driving theory, Essential skills, Read to succeed, Conversational Polish.  We have a    thriving multi-cultural English program ranging from Basic level through to Cambridge First Certificate and have been hugely successful in integrating our ethnic minority population into the Euterpe Project.  Our work with ethnic minorities brings an added vibrancy and a widening of experience to all at the Centre both stuff and beneficiaries.

At this time of the year the programme is drawing to a close with students completing portfolio’s and assessments preparing to undertake formal examinations – a daunting prospect but nevertheless we are confident that all the students will achieve successful outcomes.
