Demographics
On Census Day 29th April 2001 the resident population of Blackstaff ward was 3964. Of this population:
- 17.0% were under 16 years old and 21.4% were aged 60 and above;
- 48.2% of the population were male and 51.8% were female; and
- 4.2% were from a Catholic Community Background and 91.4% were from a 'Protestant and Other Christian (including Christian related)' Community Background.
